The Legend At Arrowhead is an Arnold Palmer designed golf course located in north Glendale, Arizona. Known for being as challenging as it is beautiful, it has been a favorite of visitors and locals for over 25 years. So when Fore Golf LLC purchased the course earlier this year they knew they were getting an excellent course that already had a sterling reputation. But that didn’t stop them for investing over a half a million dollars in major renovations to further improve the facility.
Room For Improvement
While the course itself looked and played great, the new owners weren’t completely satisfied with the performance of food and beverage sales on the patio. The patio is conveniently located next to the pro-shop and offers up a spectacular view of one of the six lakes that are situated on the golf course. So when General Manager Lisa McCauley contacted Today’s Patio to see if we had some ideas that could offer her customers some ample opportunities to take in the view and perhaps a few beverages and snacks, we were more than happy to oblige.
The Challenges
After speaking with one of our design specialist and discussing the challenges the patio presented it was determined that the Heritage collection from Agio would work best. The challenges being the lake that borders the patio and the amount of dust that blows through all Arizona golf courses. The Heritage collection is made with a rust proof cast aluminum frame making it extremely durable and ideal to be next to a large water source. To combat the dust they needed a fabric that did a good job of hiding dirt and they chose Sunbrella’s sesame linen fabric.
Now That’s Comfortable
In total they added three sofas, four club chairs, three spring club chairs, two large flat screen TV’s, a fire pit and an assortment of outdoor tables providing them several deep seating lounging areas and a fire pit chat group. Before the renovations the patio had eight dining tables and 32 dining chairs. Instead of throwing the old stuff out they purchased the same Sunbrella Sesame Linen cushions for all the chairs giving them a face lift and making them much more comfortable while matching the look of the new furniture.
While the new furniture is only a recent addition to the facility the early results have been encouraging. Food and beverage sales have seen significant growth and customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Now when the course closes for the night it’s to the dismay of comfortable patrons.
